BROOKLYN — Hosted by HUGE at the DUMBO Arts Center, the fourth Digital DUMBO had over 200 people in attendance, bringing tech/social media influencers and emerging design talent together to connect, network and share inspiration.
HUGE Partner and Creative Director David Skokna addressed the crowd with “Blood, Sweat and Fear: Doing Business in DUMBO.” Taking a look at how the area has changed in the last ten years and why he feels it’s a particularly good spot for creative types, David explored the ways current designers can launch themselves towards major success.
“Starting HUGE ten years ago was what I knew was right, so I never quit,” said Skokna. “If you are not happy at your job right now, quit. You must have passion and enjoy what you do every day to become a success.”
Co-founded by Carrot Creative, The Jar Group and outside.in, Digital DUMBO has been featured in Mashable, NYConvergenc, MediaPost and dumbonyc.com. Hailed as an “up-and-coming digital community” with a “hyper-connected offline presence," the monthly gathering is gaining steam.
