BROOKLYN — iVillage, the leading online community for women, tapped HUGE to revitalize its logo and homepage with a new look and feel, one that’s fresh, lively and contemporary.
The HUGE and iVillage teams created a handcrafted look for the new logo — warm and friendly, reflecting the most important qualities of iVillage. “Our goal was to create a fresh visual language for the iVillage brand,” says Claudia Chow, art director at HUGE. “The look needed to feel vibrant, playful and crafted, almost as if it was written by a woman’s hand. Many of the visual elements on the page incorporate a sketched feel, highlighting iVillage’s incredible community integration.”
iVillage community members were of utmost importance during the redesign of the homepage, even offering their input at the start of the process. The community is now truly the focal point of the page, elevating users’ personal stories and photos and integrating them with hot topics each day. The homepage content is carefully curated with the site’s busy reader in mind, helping her find what she’s looking for fast as well as inviting her to engage and join a conversation instantly.
