QA Lead
HUGE is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to join the Quality Assurance team. The Quality Assurance Lead will be responsible for managing day-to-day project and department initiatives, including the supervision of the Quality Assurance team and assurance that release-candidate builds meet/exceed quality metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Define quality procedures and test standards, including test planning, documentation, execution, analysis, transition, and reporting of issues
- Author, review, and publish test artifacts (strategy, plan, cases) from design documentation and functional specifications. Ensure QA team has access to all relevant upstream documentation (UX, Design, HTML, CMS, Functional specs, etc) and test data
- Identify, recalibrate and execute manual and automated tests for multiple software builds within scheduled releases. Test approaches include client/server, white-box, black-box, positive/negative, and relational database testing. Test types include functional, integration, regression, UAT, and performance/stress
- Lead the test result triage by proactively troubleshooting with BA and QA peers to replicate/identify, and resolve issues through peer interviews. Sign-offs on performance/load test results, release candidate builds. Escalate issues to senior management when necessary
- Document, review, and approve defect/issues in Tracking system, including suggested ownership, priority, and possible reason for issue. Monitor defects so that they progress a timely manner and adhere to the defect tracking process/standards
- Maintain the QA environment, including daily build and release management (synch/install/tar builds to QA and production-candidate builds from QA to Staging environments), code freezes, and application server monitoring. Determine which tests should be automated and recalibrate scripts (Unix, python scripting). Perform other test engineering efforts (including test data import and manipulation) within and outside of QA, as necessary. Lead research and implementation of automation tools and development of best practices
- Supervise analysts, communicate professionally at all levels, provide team guidance, and handle multiple projects. Lead team status meetings. Assist senior members in assessing performance/stress test results, code freezes, and release candidacy of builds. Must be accountable and responsible for working on Business critical solutions
- Assist Senior QA Lead in managing project schedules, staff resourcing, and communication within and outside the team. Proactively monitor health and visibility of the QA effort on multiple builds to ensure risk mitigation and up-front gap analysis
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Experience in testing websites or web applications in multiple browsers
- Relevant BA/BS or equivalent technical training and professional work experience
- Minimum of 3 years QA experience as a Senior Analyst
- Proven knowledge of different phases of STLC, SDLC, Project, and Testing Methodologies. Experience with agile or waterfall approaches required
- Minimum of one year Agency experience required
- Proven expertise in QA methodologies and experience authoring and executing comprehensive test suites from business and functional requirements. Experience specifying test requirements, planning tests, running tests and tracking defects (with Jira, a plus)
- Experience using Jira, Bugzilla or Mercury Test suite for specifying test requirements, planning tests, running tests and tracking defects is required
- Experience working with cutting edge web technologies, reporting (Jira, Bugzilla, Test Director) and automated testing tools such as Selenium, Windmill, WinRunner, QTP or Loadrunner. Intermediate proficiency with SQL and working knowledge of relational database technologies
- Proven interpersonal, analytical, attention to detail/strategy, and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and self-motivation skills. Team and thought leadership capability is required
- Previous project management experience desired
- Supervisory experience or potential is required
